Brentwood Centre – Chat 1st Mental Wellbeing Programme

The Chat 1st Mental Wellbeing programme at the Brentwood Centre runs 12 week courses for young people aged 16 and over, with the aim of improving physical, mental and social wellbeing. A mental health diagnosis is not required and there are no waiting lists.

The programme supports anyone who may be struggling with their mental wellbeing; whether it’s stress, anxiety, depression, bi-polar or any other undiagnosed mental health condition. The mental wellbeing programme offers activities and classes seven days a week:

Monday, 11.30am – 12.30pm: Wellbeing Walk (free)
Monday, 6.30pm – 7.30pm: Racquet Sports
Tuesday, 1pm – 2pm: Yoga
Wednesday, 11am – 12pm: Gardening (free)
Wednesday, 2pm – 2.45pm: Boxing
Thursday, 1.30pm – 2.30pm: Tai-Chi
Thursday, 2pm – 4pm: Chat Café
Friday, 10am – 12pm: Gardening (free)
Friday, 1pm – 2pm: Swimming
Saturday, 5pm – 6pm: Gym
Sunday: Chat 1st Podcast (free)

All sessions are exclusive to Chat 1st members and are supported by a Chat 1st Team Activator (who are all fully trained in peer support and mental health first aid). The Activator will be in reception for 30 minutes before each class for a chat.

The Chat 1st Support Team can also support anyone eligible for a personal health budget in their application to receive a fully funded all inclusive annual membership.

Booking is not required.  You can turn up on the day or register online. The cost is £2 per session.  It is free for anyone on means tested benefits.
