Children and Young People with Disabilities Service

Social care is available to support some people who have learning disabilities, physical or sensory impairment or who have particular mental health difficulties.

The service is made up of four area social work teams (0-15 years and 16-25 years), Child and Family Support Teams, Information, Advice and Guidance teams, and an Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation Service which covers the whole county.

The Service has teams in each of the local offices in Basildon, Chelmsford, Colchester and Harlow.

In each office there is a team of:

• 0 - 15 social workers, which includes Child and Family Support
Sensory workers also form part of the social care teams to offer support where there is a sensory impairment.
