EHCP Workshops for Parent Carers

ISEssex are holding informal sessions to help plan your son/daughters Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plan. 

Workshops have been planned for this term, across the county. The workshops give you the opportunity to;

  • learn about the EHC process
  • find out how iSEssex can help you 
  • meet other parent carers going through the same transfer process
  • gain tips, ideas and resources

North East SENDIASS Practical Workshop

The Essex SEND Information Advice and Support Service is holding a free workshop day for parents/carers of children with special educational needs and disabilities, who live in the North East area of Essex only, including Colchester and Tendring. Parents/carers will be able to attend three workshops (includes a buffet lunch), offering knowledge and skills which you can adapt at home. The event also offers the opportunity to meet other parents and visit the exhibitor stands representing organisations that offer support and services in this area.

PACT Autism Awareness Event

Pact for Autism are holding an awareness event on Wednesday 28th June with a guest speak, Andrew Whitehouse. 

The event will take place at Passmores Academy, Harlow on 28th June, 6pm - 8:30pm.

SEN consultant Andrew Whitehouse will be delivering a practical talk and workshop with information on pathological demand avoidance (PDA), a behaviour profile within the autism spectrum that appears as extremely avoidant behaviour, springing from anxiety and a need to maintain a sense of control.

There is a charge of £5 per PACT registered parents and £15 for professionals.

The Ministry of Parenting: FLASH is a group course, free to parents/carers whose young person is exhibiting self-harming behaviour and how this may impact on the whole family.
