CanalAbility
CanalAbility are a registered charity who provide people with SEND the opportunity to enjoy boating on a river in their specially adapted canal boats.
They make it possible for people with SEND to have a day out or a weekend break exploring the Rivers Stort and Lee through the Essex and Hertfordshire countryside. Everyone can have a go at steering and working the locks, or relax and watch the world go by.
They have three accessible boats. Depending on the boat, these have:
- heating
- wet rooms
- adapted beds
- disability toilets
- ramps
- lifts
- hoist points
- fully equipped galleys for preparing meals
