Colchester Gateway Clubs are an independent local charity, providing social clubs and activities for adults with learning disabilities. The main aim of the clubs is for people to enjoy themselves in a relaxed atmosphere.
The Tuesday night club is held at the Kingsland Church, London Road, Lexden, Colchester (Above Aldi supermarket). It is a smaller club with 60 – 70 members attending weekly. The club is held in a modern building with a busy coffee bar which serves hot and cold food and drink.
On Fridays they have another event based at the Wilson Marriage Centre in Barrack Street, Colchester, doors open at 6.45 PM for 2 hours of social fun. With four areas to choose from, members can choose from a long list of activities and pastimes to suit all tastes.
Whether it’s the lively disco or just chatting in the coffee bar area, Colchester Gateway offers something for everyone.
If you are feeling creative there is the drama workshop or the arts and crafts room, the skilled staff will provide an activity to suit the ability of all members.
The club offers members the chance to socialise in a relaxed atmosphere but also offers everyone the opportunity to participate in weekly craft sessions as well as play pool, table tennis and table football with their friends.
