
ECL – Day Opportunities and Inclusive Employment
Day Opportunities
ECL provides day opportunity services for adults with learning disabilities. Day opportunities offer the chance to:
- become more independent
- develop new skills
- be part of the local community
Adults with learning disabilities have access to:
- community based activities
- training programmes
- skill sessions (such as travel training, healthy eating and independence skills)
- specialist equipment
- digital technology to support communication and choice
- sensory room
ECL also have their own clinical team who can offer specialist, therapy-led support, including occupational therapy, speech and language therapy and physiotherapy.
Inclusive Employment
ECL’s Inclusive Employment programme is for adults with learning disabilities and autism.
Employment consultants work with individuals to develop their skills, confidence and experience so that they are more prepared for work.
They offer support with:
- vocational profiling
- CV writing
- qualifications
- work placements (in horticultural, retail and hospitality)
Cost
ECL support people who have been referred by their local authority, those in receipt of a direct payment, personal budget, personal health budget and those who are funding their care and support needs privately.
