Essex Young People’s Drug and Alcohol Service – (EYPDAS)
Services are free and fully accessible. We will see young people in the community at locations chosen by and appropriate for them.
Adults and families can be seen at the four main quadrant bases – Chelmsford, Harlow, Basildon and Colchester.
We offer a range of services:
* Choices, provided in partnership with Open Road, offers an Integrated Recovery Management System (personalised assessment, care planning and one to one support) and Structured Interventions Service (individual support and therapeutic groupwork, counselling, relapse prevention, sexual health services, access to positive activities, needle and syringe provision, structured recovery programmes, targeted groupwork programmes).
Safe in Essex (Uttlesford, Harlow and Epping Forest, Basildon and Brentwood) works with runaway, persistent absconders, truant from education, sexually exploited and young people experiencing domestic or relationship violence (care co-ordination, risky behaviour programme, safe friends scheme).
BRICK – Building Resilience in Community Knowledge (mid Essex only) aims to identify needs and improve parental skills and children and young people’s behaviour and well-being in relation to substance misuse (tailored support, training, local support groups).
CHHAT – Community Hidden Harm Awareness Team, aims to improve the emotional well-being of carers, aged 8-19years, who are affected by a family members substance use (carers forum, outreach, targeted groupwork programme).
Who the service provides for
EYPDAS works with children, young people and families up to the age of 19 (or 24 where additional needs are present) who are affected by their own or someone elses substance use.
Our Youth Alcohol Workers work with young people aged 18-24.
