Makaton Training – Essex
Makaton uses signs, symbols and speech to help people of all ages and abilities to communicate.
Makaton helps understanding, improves relationships, takes away frustrations and develops literacy and numeracy skills.
It can support different people with different learning difficulties, including:
- profound, severe, moderate or mild learning difficulties
- autistic spectrum disorders
- physical impairment
- sensory impairment
- specific language disorders
It also helps people who have English as an additional language (EAL) to communicate.

Professionals working with children or adults who have communication difficulties or English as an additional language (EAL) can also attend the training workshops.
