POET (Personal Outcomes Evaluation Tool)
What is POET?
POET is a tool which collects parent, children, young people and practitioner views of Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and Special Educational Needs (SEN) support and the impact it has had on their lives (or the lives of those they support). It takes just 10 minutes to complete and can be completed once a year, any time during that year.
All the questionnaires are anonymous and go directly to In Control, which is a charity working with the Department for Education. None of the surveys or your personal details are seen by the local authority.
Why should I complete POET?
It is important that Essex County Council know how your experience of EHCP support and/or SEND support has been this year. The feedback you give will be used to develop and improve services, based on what matters to you. POET is your opportunity to provide your views on what is working and what isn’t working and play an important part in shaping the future experiences of families.
In Control will also compare how Essex County Council is doing against other Local Authorities, based on your responses.
