Southend Mencap – Family Play and Respite Club
Southend Mencap run a family play and respite club for children aged 5 to 16 years with learning disabilities. Activities include sports, games, puzzles, arts and crafts.
Non-disabled siblings can also attend, meaning parents can book both their disabled and non-disabled children into the club and secure some respite for themselves.
There session runs every Saturday, 9am to 3pm.
The club is run by a coordinator and assistants, together with volunteers.
The club also provides a number of sessions during most school holidays.
