Parent/Carer Support Groups in North East Essex
Parent and carer support groups are a way to meet other parents for practical and emotional support. Most groups are run by parents and carers of children with additional needs. They can offer:
- information and advice
- a listening ear
- activities days
Each group will offer something different. Some are open to parents and carers of children with any additional needs. Others are for parents whose children have the same need.

Colchester Parent Support
The Colchester Parent Support meetings run monthly and are for families of children and young people with additional needs.
EXTRA Support for Families
EXTRA run courses and workshops and coffee mornings for parents and carers of children and young people with additional needs.

Harwich Parent Support Group
The Harwich Parent Support meetings run monthly and are for families of children and young people with additional needs. They also invite professionals and organisations to attend their monthly coffee mornings.
The MAZE Group
The MAZE Group CiC provides wrap-around early support for families of children with additional needs in NE Essex, including a specialist parenting programme, a course about SEND support, drop-in sessions with free confidential consultations with professionals, an ongoing peer-to-peer support network (that has no cost to the parent or time limit), individual consultations/advice, a programme of support for neurodiverse parents who have their own additional needs, workshops, videos and online groups.
This group is for Parents and Carers with a self or professional refferal (fill in the refferal form here). Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and on Tuesday evenings 6:30pm to 8pm.
