Multi School Council Competition LeafletThe story of Sam and the Spider was written by the children and young people of The Multi-Schools Council with the help of author, Genevieve Yusuf and focusses on breaking down perceptions of children with special educational needs.

Essex County Council has provided all primary schools that attended the recent SENCO update meetings, with a copy to take back to their school and will be sending copies to the rest of Essex primary and special schools, after half term.

Competition Time!

For any children and young people that have read the book (in school, at home or at the library), there is also a chance to win some fantastic prizes for you and your school!

What you need to do:
Read the story of Sam and the Spider. In the story Sam was having a bad day and felt sad and low. Her friend Spider tried to help and make things better. If you are having a bad day, who or what helps you? What helps you turn a bad day into a good day? You can write, draw a picture, send a digital image or make a short movie clip. You choose.

Genevieve will visit your school and lead an interactive story time with activities. You will have the chance to ask Genevieve what it is like to be an author and hear about her stories. There are also individual prizes for the top three entries in each age group. All winners will receive a signed copy of the book to keep and a £10 voucher.
